Hello! I’m Tomoko,who is the owner, chef and a party cordinater here at Afternoon Tea Club. I fell in love with the romantic British tea culture and was fascinated making fluffy ‘n flaky scones when I was still in Japan. I started my career in the food industry 25 years ago after graduatiing college in Baltimore Maryland and earned culinary degree. I worked at hotels, restaurants, catering companies as well as being a private chef. These experiences allowed me to develop and refine my techniques and knowledges. The thought of owing my buisiness to blend in all my love of food, especially baking, art and creativity for long time, but never had been realistic. My turning point came a few years after I became an excecutive chef at a historical membership club where I worked for 15years. It was a time filled with both challenges and rewards, where my leadership and creativity flourished. It was never easy , but I made my mind to leave the job to follow my heart. Though the decision weighed heavily on my mind, the prospect of pursuing my own vision filled me with enthusiasm. My goal is to provide unforgettable moments for each guest through timeless, sophiscated of afternoon tea service. I would be honored to share my passion with you all for your next tea party!!
